Initially incorporated as a pipe coating contractor in 1974, the company graduated to supplying carbon steel tube and fittings and in 1976 a pipe fabrication company was formed. The company is now a major pipe fabricator and tube stockist with manufacturing based at Pallion Shipyard in Sunderland,

Tyne Tubes Limited has diversified from its original roots to encompass all aspects of pipe fabrication. From large bore (1420mm) pontoons protecting the Millennium Wheel to piling pipe for Harrods underground extensions. From submarine pipework for Van Oord at Dublin Bay to offshore fabrications for Talisman, Aberdeen. Great value is placed on service, quality and achieving clients' often demanding delivery schedules.

Its commitment to quality standards is reflected by long standing registration of its business management system to BS EN ISO 9001:2008. Quality consciousness focuses not only on fabrication, but quotations, contracts and all other aspects of customer contact - providing customers with the assurance of reliability and a high standard of service.

Mining

In the late 1970s Tyne Tubes established itself as a major supplier of high pressure rising mains to the UK mining industry, becoming exclusive National Contract supplier to British Coal.

Tyne Tubes now supply on long term contracts pipes for methane extraction, firefighting, soluble oil and concrete pump packing. Tyne Tubes is the exclusive stockist and supplier to the UK mining industry of victaulic and carlton pipe joints. Tyne Tubes also supplies large quantities of flanged pipe and valves for high pressure mining applications.

Marine

Tyne Tubes production facility at Pallion Shipyard is approx. 30000 sq. ft. and services by a 15 ton overhead crane, with further access to additional space with upto 180 ton lift

We carry permanent staff including coded welders, pipefitters, burners, platers and marine mechanical fitters working with a variety of materials such as carbon steel, low carbon steel, stainless steel, duplex, cunifer and aluminium. Our ride on squads have completed various contracts aboard clients' vessels in the UK and Europe

Tyne Tubes are a distributor of Desmi Marine Pumps and the exclusive distributor in the United Kingdom for GJERDE tank vent check valves which have full Classification Society Approval.

Tyne Tubes are accredited to ISO 9001:2008 and are preferred contractors to many leading ship owners and oil and offshore operators.

Tyne Tubes are a member of the Shipbuilding & Shiprepair Association (SSA)

Fabrication

Tyne Tubes utilises modern techniques and are located within a totally covered production facility with access to large fabrication machines and storage/handling facilities. Our Pallion Shipyard location in Sunderland makes it suitable for barge transport of large sections that cannot be handled by road transport.

Equipment Stockist

Tyne Tubes are stockists and suppliers of carbon steel pipe from 50mm (2") to 400mm (16") in various grades from API 5L, A53.

We stock and supply Gate, Globe, Check & Butterfly valves in various materials such as Cast Iron, Nod Cast Iron, Cast Steel, Bronze and Stainless Steel in sizes from 1/2" to 48".

Through this division it has supplied a variety of clients which include the Kings Cross Tunnels and the Royal Navy's Type 45 destroyers.
